Recipe: Lavender-Herb Compound Butter
Compound butter is a delicious addition to roasted veggies, grilled meats, or a slice of your favorite bread. The best part? Just how easy it is!
For this recipe, you'll need:
- 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter
- 5 tablespoons of a neutral oil, such as avocado, sunflower, or refined olive oil
- 3/4 teaspoon fine sea salt
- 3/4 teaspoon freshly minced garlic
- 1.5 tablespoons finely grated fresh lemon zest
- 1.5 tablespoons fresh thyme leaves
- 1.5 tablespoons finely minced fresh chives
- 1.5 tablespoons finely minced culinary lavender
...and you're nearly done! Just add all of your ingredients to a food processor or mixing bowl and mix well. Once everything is incorporated, turn out your butter into an airtight container or into a butter mold before placing into the fridge and allowing your butter to solidify. Keeps airtight and refrigerated for 1 week or frozen for up to 3 months.
