…a little bit o’ history.
This farm was part of the estate of the late Arlie C and Maggie Queen Campbell of Landrum, SC and boasts of a magnificent view of Hogback Mountain. Our plan is to test several varieties of lavender in the open meadow to see which is best for our South Carolina climate; we hope to have these in the ground by May. In the meantime, there are acres of land overgrown with brambles, and they won’t take themselves out! There is an old house on the property, I think Maggie and Arlie lived in it at one time, but will have to double check. Even in our naïveté, it’s beyond salvation. The site is where we plan to raise a new barn. We’ll keep you informed on the progress!
